RKM—in collaboration with the BIA—releases its sixth annual NH Business Outlook Survey

In 2009, New Hampshire businesses are feeling more confident than in 2007 and 2008 about the overall economic outlook over the next 12 months, according to data from the RKM / BIA 2010 NH Business Outlook Survey. Sponsored by the Business and Industry Association and RKM Research and Communications, the sixth annual Business Outlook Survey measured business confidence among a stratified random sample of 302 New Hampshire businesses and found that the overall economic outlook is more positive than it had been in previous years. RKM hires new Associate Analyst, Stephanie Woodard

The RKM / Franklin Pierce University / WBZ poll closely predicted the results of the New Hampshire presidential primary

Senators John McCain and Hillary Clinton left New Hampshire victorious yesterday, overcoming their competitors Mitt Romney and Barack Obama. In light of these results, many in the media began criticizing pre-primary polls, many of which predicted an easy win for Barack Obama, sometimes by more than 10 points. A review of our polling indicates that our results were generally accurate, showing McCain beating Romney by nine points and Obama and Clinton in a statistical dead-heat. This memo evaluates these differences and enumerates some of the other strengths of the RKM / FPU / WBZ poll.

The latest poll on the New Hampshire Republican Presidential Primary shows John McCain leading Mitt Romney for the nomination, with Mike Huckabee and Rudy Giuliani trailing

RKM Research and Communications in Portsmouth, NH, Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, NH, and Boston's WBZ-TV News conducted a new poll of Republican primary voters. Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney now trails John McCain by nine points. Having rebounded from a low of 14 percent in September, John McCain now enjoys the support of 38 percent of Republican primary voters, with Romney close behind (29%). Mike Huckabee (9%) is third, as support for Giuliani reaches an all-time low (8%).

The latest poll on the New Hampshire Democratic Presidential Primary shows Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton in a statistical dead heat

RKM Research and Communications in Portsmouth, NH, Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, NH, and Boston's WBZ-TV News conducted a new poll of Democratic primary voters. With the 2008 New Hampshire Presidential Primary fast approaching, Senator Hillary Clinton and Senator Barack Obama are now nearly tied. Support for Obama is marginally higher (34%) than support for Clinton (31%), with Senator John Edwards (20%) 11 points behind Clinton.

RKM—in collaboration with the BIA—releases its fourth annual NH Business Outlook Survey

Most New Hampshire businesses are less confident than in previous years about the overall economic conditions for the next 12 months, according to data from the RKM / BIA 2008 NH Business Outlook Survey. Sponsored by the Business and Industry Association and RKM Research and Communications, the fourth annual Business Outlook Survey measured business confidence among a stratified random sample of 300 New Hampshire businesses and found that the overall economic outlook is less positive than it had been in previous years. However, economic growth in 2007 is projected to modestly exceed 2006 expectations, and, in general, businesses continue to expect their revenues, capital expenditures and employment to increase in the coming year. The latest poll on the New Hampshire Republican Presidential Primary shows Mitt Romney as front-runner, followed by Rudy Giuliani and John McCain

RKM Research and Communications in Portsmouth, NH, Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, NH, and Boston's WBZ-TV News conducted a new poll of Republican primary voters. Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney maintains his lead over former mayor Rudy Giuliani and Senator John McCain. In March, John McCain (29%) and Rudy Giuliani (28%) were early front-runners, but Romney overtook them in June. Today he commands a seven-point lead over Giuliani (23%) and a 16-point lead over McCain (14%), attracting the support of 30 percent of Republican primary voters in New Hampshire.

RKM Research and Communications in Portsmouth, NH, Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, NH, and Boston's WBZ-TV News conducted a new poll of Democratic primary voters. With the 2008 New Hampshire Presidential Primary fast approaching, Senator Hillary Clinton maintains a significant lead over her Democratic rivals. In March, Clinton (32%) held a 7-point lead over her closest challenger, Senator Barack Obama (25%). Today, support for Obama has fallen to 18 percent, with Clinton now commanding twice as much support (36%).

Kelly Myers, President and Chief Analyst of RKM Research and Communications, Inc., will be teaching a workshop at the SHSMD conference in Washington, D.C., October 3, 2007. The workshop is entitled Healthcare Marketing Research: Using Evidence-Based Research to Improve the Effectiveness of Healthcare Marketing, and it focuses on conducting a properly designed market research study. Mr. Myers will lead participants through a number of real-world case studies, focused on applying market research techniques to make evidence-based marketing decisions. Following the Republican debate on June 5, 2007, RKM Research and Communications in Portsmouth, NH, Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, NH, and Boston's WBZ-TV News conducted a new poll of Republican primary voters. Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney has overtaken Senator John McCain and former mayor Rudy Giuliani as the Republican favorite following the debate. In March, John McCain (29%) and Rudy Giuliani (28%) were early front-runners, but today Romney commands a nine-point lead over Giuliani (18%) and a 10-point lead over McCain (17%), attracting the support of 27 percent of Republican primary voters in New Hampshire.

With just over half a year before the much anticipated 2008 New Hampshire Presidential Primary, Senator Hillary Clinton has opened a much larger lead over her Democratic rivals. In March, Clinton (32%) held a 7-point lead over her closest challenger, Senator Barack Obama (25%). Today, Clinton commands a much larger lead, attracting the support of 38 percent of Democratic primary voters, while Obama’s support has dropped to 16 percent.

Exclusive polls conducted by NH Primary polling expert, R. Kelly Myers, in collaboration with Franklin Pierce University and WBZ-TV

RKM Research and Communications in Portsmouth, NH, Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, NH, and Boston's WBZ-TV News are launching an exclusive partnership to conduct and release a series of political polls during the New Hampshire Presidential Primary season.

The first poll about Democratic Presidential hopefuls was released Tuesday, March 13, followed by the poll about Republican Presidential hopefuls on Wednesday, March 14.

R. Kelly Myers—a veteran pollster who has polled consistently in the past four consecutive Presidential Primaries and who has accepted a position as Senior Fellow at Franklin Pierce University—will lead the polling efforts. A principal of RKM Research and Communications, Mr. Myers will continue his work with the firm as well as serve as analyst for the political polls.

The polls will be concurrently conducted on Franklin Pierce University's Rindge campus through its Martin Fitzwater Center for Communications and at RKM in Portsmouth. Students at the Fitzwater Center will work alongside Mr. Myers' staff at RKM Research and Communications, designing the questions for the polls and analyzing the results as part of a series of classes Mr. Myers will teach.

"I'm excited to be working with Franklin Pierce University and WBZ-TV throughout this polling cycle," said Mr. Myers. "This is my fifth consecutive Primary conducting polling and, arguably, the most competitive election year in New Hampshire since 1952. Sponsored by the Business and Industry Association and RKM Research and Communications, the third annual Business Outlook Survey measured business confidence among a stratified random sample of 300 New Hampshire businesses and found that the outlook is positive. Expectations for economic growth were met in 2006, and most businesses expect revenues, capital expenditures and employment to increase in the coming year.
